Hit My Music is an interview podcast that looks at the world of wrestling through the lens of music. Every two weeks, David Kincannon (Podvocacy, Everlasting Minute) sits down with someone from the world of wrestling to get insights into their taste in music, their favorite wrestling entrance themes, and the entrance themes they've used throughout their careers.

Episode 8 - Daniel Makabe
Thursday Dec 09, 2021
Thursday Dec 09, 2021
Episode 7 was a wild one. In a completely different way, episode 8 is just as wild. My guest this week is The Wrestling Genius, Daniel Makabe. He doesn't have the manic energy of Wes Barkley, but he does have an eclectic taste, and quite a musical journey. Whether it's starting out listening to Aerosmith, starting a Neutral Milk Hotel cover band, or making his own original music in multiple projects, Daniel certainly covers a lot of ground, musically.
In this conversation, we talk about a variety of topics, including the CanCon law in Canada, getting bands to play covers they weren't planning to play, and ill fated co-headlining tours...when you were really only there to see the opening act.
You can find Daniel all over the internet. Check him and his music out in the following places:

This week on Hit My Music, my guest is Sue Jackson. We start off talking about the two cassettes that his mother kept in her car, which formed his musical base. From there we talk about growing up in the early 90s, discovering grunge and hip hop, finding bands with instrumenting instrumentation choices, and the stigma of being a late 90s teen boy who liked boy bands, which evolves into a discussion of favorite *NSync members.
In the second half of the show, we talk about the effectiveness of the Ultimate Warrior in bringing kids to wrestling, his different entrance themes, and his dream entrance theme. Along the way we talk about the un-suitability of "A Boy Named Sue" for an entrance, no matter how "obvious" it may seem, using one's trainer's theme in representing them, and double stomps to the back of the head...ouch.

Welcome to the first official episode of Hit My Music.
This episode's guest is none other than Pig Daddy Cool, himself, The Boar. Listen as we chat about growing up listening to pop music, transitioning to a life of listening to no secular music, and then discovering the glory of early Britney Spears. We also discuss the various entrance themes he's used throughout his career, and why Demi Lovato has the perfect song for two large wrestlers to enter to.

The Run Up Episode 2 (Everlasting Minute - Episode 88)

Thank you for downloading from the Hit My Music Feed.
Tomorrow, the first regular episode of Hit My Music will be released. But first, as an introduction to me as a podcaster, I present an out of context episode of a Movies by Minutes podcast, episode 88 of Everlasting Minute, which was a deep dive into Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
From the original release:
"In minute 88, Mike Teevee is interrupting Willy Wonka, and explains television poorly. Wonka explains how he created Wonkavision…poorly. Also, we realize how much of this scene is lost in translation with today’s television technology. Jason explains his version of 4K to David. We briefly discuss video formats, and why formats end up being adopted. Jason makes a Star Trek reference that completely goes over David’s head. Wonka gives us another literary quote, and we talk Lewis Carroll’s gifts to the literary canon. "
Thank you for listening, and I hope you're looking forward to the first episode of Hit My Music Later this week.
